Evil dreams make you evil?

Just wondering what everyone thinks about what it means when you have evil dreams. For example, i have a friend who says the ONLY dreams he EVER remembers are ones in which he is shooting innocent people. Hes a nice guy, and is totally opposed to all forms of human violence. so whats the deal?
Ive also had a close friend tell me about dreams involving themselves performing pedophilia, or bestiality, and how they really freak him out.
I guess im wondering what this kind of stuff says about a person, in your oppinion?

Maybe they're all things that they are suppressing and it only comes out in their subconscious.

i wouldn't say that we could make any harsh judgements about what happens in one's subconcious. in the subconcious mind, all of the rules change. it doesn't operate like your concious mind does so it can get away with things that would be unacceptable, so to speak, in the concious mind. it's kind of like playing in a video game. all of the rules--even those of morality--can change if the case calls for it.

Oh yeah, and to comment on the subject of this thread... I think dreams are a product of one's self. So in that case dreams don't make the person good or evil, but they may express aspects of how they already are in some way.

right, let me rephrase then... do evil dreams mean your evil?
do you guys think violent dreams nescessarily reveal a supressed desire for violence, or could it have other sources?

Not necessarily because often times the things that happen in dreams have different meanings from what they actually are.

What happens in a dream is only illusionary. You may have raped the olson twins in a barn, and killed the president but you will never find yourself in jail for this. It comes down to what you are actually doing in reality that other people judge you. If your having doubts about your own personal mental health, seek professional help. In my experience there is always more to a person than what they would have your percieve. Good luck.

i used to choose characters in my dreams when i was lucid and i was a mobster a few times
i got killed in one mob-related dream and went to hell, after i pysically woke up i realized god had sent me to hell, and i am pretty sure god did it.. therefore god doesnt like people to kill people in dreams when they are lucid..
im too tired to explain this so i will let this post read strait to the point

its just your subconcious trying to interperet something. what? who knows. my dreams are often filled with violence, and fuct up things, but i don't let this bother me, because it dosen't necisarily mean that that is the way i am.

Not if you get Geragos for a lawyer. (See O.J. Simpson and Scott Peterson)
