Rye for 1/2 pints?

  :confused:Can anyone give me some good tips  on using a 100% rye grain substrate using 1/2 pint jars.
I am interested in knowing how much rye and water that i need to fill the jars with before i stick them in the pressure coooker.
But just incase you need this info i will have already soaked the rye grain for 12 hours prior to jarring and cooking.
Please help. My syringes go bad in a week !  :ooo:  :confused:  :mushroom2:

just an update. actually the grain will not be pre-soaked. i'll just do that in the jar....duh.

The beauty of grain substrates is that they can be shaken. In order to be able to be shaken, there needs to be a space of around 1/3 of the jar after pressure cooking.

This makes the 1/2 pint jar unusable for this kind of grows, it is simply too small.

wow thats good to know. i have 12 1 pinters so i guess i'll use those and follow the faqs
thanks for the advice.....got anymore tips. this is my first time doing this.

Check out Magash's "a very simple grain tek." I'm sure it can be modified for 1/2 pint jars. It's easy as pie, too!
