The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Shroomery has some good dosing info. CTRL-F "micro-dose" and it should jump to the section.

The most recent studies done in rats suggest that for humans a proper microdose would be less than .1g cubes taken every other day. Probably closer to .05g really.
Personally, I take a bit more than that. About .2g of ground sclerotia. Which are a bit less potent dry by weight than cubes. So, probably .15g of cubes.
But only because my veggie caps hold about .2g when not packed and measuring them out smaller than that would be a pita.
I can drive on this dose. I can't say the effects are unnoticeable. Slight brightening of colors. Much easier to be mindful though. Which tends to lead to better decisions and better mental health overall.
edit: I'm going to switch to fruits though. As I have chronic body pain and I just learned they might be better for helping me re-establish a healthy relationship with my body.

thank you octopus disco and tree frog your information can help me get a starting point to decide a dose and days. your story about how you feel it but not enough to impair you is good to know. i think to start maybe .05 and then go up to .1 after a week of trails.

Microdosing doesn't do a lot. Macrodosing is the way to go if you want to try to treat issues like depression.
Technically a microdose should be small enough that you can't feel it. A very, very tiny amount. If you can feel it, you took too much.
Microdoses don't do a lot, but low doses are highly recreational. Still they never do anything for me like 200ug of LSD does...

that's awesome. sadly ive never had lsd. a real shame. i see what you mean about what a micro dose is though. i like how you said low doses are highly recreational? i might have to give that a go. if i wanna try lsd can't i just order the lsd-1 analogue or something and it's just like the real thing, but legal? sort of like delta 8 is to delta 9? but one is legal the otherisn;t?

Micro dosing has shown positive effects in rats in regards to depression and anxiety responses.
So, it seems likely to help with depression in humans.
The effects aren't as sudden as macro dosing. But there is likely a gradual upward spiral out of depression that's not placebo.
Also, macro dosing doesn't always lead to positive or even neutral outcomes, especially without a therapist or guide.
So, it's not a magic bullet when it comes to depression either.
I love macro dosing personally but that doesn't mean it's going to be helpful for everyone, especially when we consider people's individual situations (sets and settings).
