Do you think prisons and jails should be abolished?

This is going to sound extreme as an American but I support the idea of abolishing prisons and jails, here I thr states they're just giant rape dungeons with other deplorable horrors. I've read about gulag and they don't even compare to your standard county jail. In Liu of prisons or jails I'd be more in favor of house arrest, especially with the fact that people in America get put in jail for self defense with a firearm like what happened with Kyle Rittenhouse for example, in other words if a guy bugger than you comes at you and tries to harm you with his hands and arms and you shoot him in self defense whether he is dead or injured you're going to be put in jail until your trial and likely found guilty even in a republican state.
If there's no interest to intently stop prison rape or e hence prison conditions or stop putting people in jail for self defense with a gun and you allow violent mentally ill meatheads running around I'd rather just get rid of the idea of prisons, there is a small movement to abolish prisons here in America anyway.

I work for a company that builds jails . Someday right there someone is going to be raped . It says classrooms on the plans but I know better . Those are rape rooms . These things are huge I had no idea so many people needed to be raped . I'm sure most of them deserve it though . Anyway it's a no for me .

There's innocent people wrongly convicted of crimes to, and there's people who are justified in their actions such as self defense that get sentenced to prison, what about those people?

That's why I said most of them . Wouldn't that be the fault of the cops and prosecutors that put you there though ?

I feel bad saying so, but a lot of people are maladjusted and dont need to be around the rest of us.

There are also guilty people who pose very serious risk to society in prison. What do you do with those people?

Why would you mention somebody like Kyle? He didn't really have to be where he was or have a gun bought for him before he became old enough to buy it for himself. Seems like the judicial system worked especially well for him and he is not in prison. Seems like a weird way to make the subject matter you started this thread over (prisons are bad) being a thing with this example.
