Stupid question. * 1

I’m pretty sure this won’t work but if I use a bit of stipe to make a clone on the left side of a petri and then the clone of another variety on the right side then took the married mycelium in the middle would it be a new hybrid? Pretty sure this is not right but would love it if it was.

Many fungi do produce some neohaplonts, or monokaryons, at their leading mycelial edge from spontaneous dedikaryotization, but you cannot count on this. So there is actually a remote chance it could work but, but generally speaking no, it won't work this way.

And there's no such thing as a stupid question when it is sincere.

I’m gonna give it a try. I’m going to try an albino with a non albino (ghost and p menace to be known phantom menace) so if it works the combination should be pretty clear.

No, dikaryotic mycelium does not mate.

Alkalis, caustic enzymes, ultrasound, and electricity have been used on disparate cell cultures.
