2nd Leg of the Tour
    #2862008 - 07/06/04 04:13 PM (19 years, 8 months ago)

Alright I don't mean to be one bringing up doses talk and all but i just realized the 20 day break between the legs. That got me thinking that maybe the 2nd leg could be totally flooded right? Well I don't really know, but is there any chance that this could happen? I'm probably being stupid, but could the second leg be very diffrent from the 1st in terms of doses?

Because it would be SO AWFUL if you didn't have a lot of drugs to take at the shows...

i don't know if it'll be flooded its a 50-50 chance. still, i'm gonna drink myself silly and go in and love it. so what if the 2nd half of the tour isn't flooded. oh well, right?

i heard there was no doses this year cause some sketchy shit went down recently. like right before bonnaroo. something sketchy happened, no one got pinched, but they went for cover.

I'd be pretty surprised. Usually the West coast shows are the ones that are more likely to be. I overheard some kids talking, and it sounds like the family REALLY doesn't want anyone doing that on this tour. I heard there were a few fractals around, but those were probably from last year.

I think that it is almost a good thing for the scene, in the fact that there are way too many stupid fucks that go to their shows for no other reason than to score acid and get fucked up. I think that this kind of energy really takes away from the scene.(I will admit that I was once one of these people). This isn't an attack against you, I'm sure you're a fan and just want to have a good time.

God I wish, I'll be on tour the first two weeks of august myself  :rasta:
Honestly, no I dont think their is gonna be much acid around the tour this year, cause most of the shows I thought would be flooded werent, so I hear. Do I think the flood is gonna happen on the east coast where more busts happen? Nope. The dead kick ass, and I kind of like seeing them tripping on shrooms and drinking anyways... If you want to check out some good music (and maybe check something else out), you must think outside the box, cause there's a lot of great psychedellic jam rock out there besides the dead. Check other dead related bands that tour.

Never look for acid, drive far and have a great time out there, and it'll will just cross paths with you.

Off the subject of acid though, bands I never miss when they tour or play in my area.... JGB, Phil and Friends, Ratdog, Dark Star Orchestra. I also like SCI, Jefferson Starship, some more local bands like juggling suns:thumbup:, splintered sunlight..ummmm who else..? Well you guys know, just keep updated on whos touring when! I know its hard thinking outside of the big picture of touring seeing one band, but I dig the new movement  :stoned:

jambase.com - go see live music

that's their logo. get a planning now!

just go have a good time, the acid will come to you when its rite  :sun:

I agree. I love the smaller jam band scene, and I think the whole Grateful Dead disbanding, and Phish hiatus did alot for these smaller bands who otherwise would have gone overlooked by the majority of heads. Don't forget Moe., they're pretty awesome too. I also like Widespread Panic, The Freak Mountain Ramblers, and others that I can't think of right now. Can't leave out the Reggae fests too. Much good vibes there.

Yes. It always finds me. I never find it. A flood for 2nd leg would be nice though.

Yeah, FMR are awesome. They play alot around Portland, but I know they get around the country some. I'm not familiar with Juggling Suns, or Splintered Sunlight, I'll have to check them out if they come to my town, or a festival nearby.

Juggling and splintered are both local bands, to the NY/NJ/PA tri-state area

Juggling is like new-grass I guess, kind of reggae sometimes, always jamming, mostly original songs. I think they have a record deal and their website is www.jugglingsuns.com or something of that nature. They do a lot for our local festival/jamband scene. They play all the time around here, bars, huge house parties, and a lot of festivals, I think they helped throw the last one I was at.

Splintered Sunlight is just a Grateful Dead coverband that has been around since they were touring with Jerry... They're good peoples, really funny, one guy looks like a young jerry  :tongue2:

Everytime someone mentions acid these days they get jumped on by 30 people, don't sweat it. The lots won't be the same way.

I actually saw an older guy walking around with a wite t-shirt that had "Looking for Uncle Sid" on the front and something like "Where's my L.S.?" on the back. He looked rediculous imo.
