what kind of nightshade is that?

and most likely it is just poisonous, though i cannot be sure.

Most solanums (and I KNOW there are many native to your area) contain steriodal glycosides. same stuff thats in potato skins that makes them poisonous. I believe many have a narcotic and sedative action on the heart. Not something you want to play with.

As are lima beans, Peach Pits, Apricot foliage, apple seeds. Many contain cyanogenic compenants.

!!!! really!?

i chew on tomato leaves at the nursery i work at all the time.......

any idea whats in them, or what the toxic level is?  i dont wanna hurt myself...so ill stop that habit for now i guess :confused:

you know it's funny I always eat the skin of a baked potatoe...never had adverse effects either...funny how you could not know something like that about such a common food....

Yes tomatoes are VERY poisonous. It was once thought that the fruit itself was poisonous too and supposedly they haven't been used as a food for that long of a time (someone told me some president made a big deal about them, then everyone started eating them... who knows)..

In fact Tomato plants are hung upside down in houses in Mexico to use a deterant to cockroaches.
