Its all in your head man,
As long as you know THree Simple things
1. There are no bugs under your skin
2. This isn't going to last forever
3. Just go with it man.
If you understand these three simple things what can go wrong, If you start to think about life and death, just go with it, Quite often you'll see something beautiful in life you never knew before, Maybe you'll even understand something about death.
Another tip for tripping, always be in a comfortable place, somewhere you feel safe and warm. Those two things never hurt when tripping.
Also, no matter what the tennis shoe is talking shit, don't get into a fight with it!

it is vital to create a setting that comforts you and sets a positive/spiritual tone.
clean your house and your body,
light some incense,
play some inspirational music,
and try to center your thoughts of positive values such as love, god, nature.

I find that having someone along with me, sober or otherwise, to talk to really keeps my mind my crazy non-stop train of thoughts that sometimes makes me weird out a little
