Cobweb on my casing.
    #2760963 - 06/03/04 03:36 PM (19 years, 10 months ago)

I've got a rubbermaid with PR's going on poo/straw. I cased it on Sunday with Jiffy Mix. Today I see about a three inch patch of cobweb mold located on the casing layer (very superficial, this has just germinated in the last 12 hours). I sterilized some utensils and carefully removed the infected section and generously sprayed with 10% h2o2/water. Will this help enough to get me to fruiting? I know the PR's are very aggressive, while still in jars they ate up some sour rot and right after spawning the myc ate some different cobwebs. I'm not to worried about it killing the myc, but if the casing layer is contam'd I assume there will be no fruits. What have others out there done when they had such a low grade outbreak on such an advanced project?

I have the same problem with jiffy mix on two seperate casings, h2o2 is doing the trick so far.

Use the h2o2/water solution for some time and see if it works.
Btw, a contaminated casing can fruit, it all depends on the contaminant. Some cobweb infected casings are reported to fruit but the quality of the product is usually not good and you can get a heck of a diarrhea. :poop: :hellfire:
It's your call...
