Yeah..the song really got my attention when I heard it. I'm a huge STP fan, and I was shocked not to notice Weiland first, where as I recognized Slash's guitar solo right away as GNR. The video is stereotypical.

I would like to get more into the mood and atmosphere back stage or at a jam session. Scott and Slash are notorious users...do you think they are helping each other staying sober, with Scott's legal troubles, or are they indulging in the Rock and Roll lifestile one last time?

hmm good question.

The single is very straight-forward rock, which isn't to say that it's less creative, just not the semi-far-out stuff that weiland did with STP or solo. I bet they're staying relatively sober, at least collectively.

I don't have long running expectations of VR, but I hope they stay rocking long enough for me to see em live.

Is an album out yet? Is it good?

Hey, forgot about this thread. But I can answer these questions. They're all sober right now. Some drink a bit but that's about it I believe. Scott gets urine tested before every show now. Scott also said that he wants VR to be the band he ends with, and plans for a long career with them.

It really sucks that there will be no more STP. I've always been a fan, but I was never able to see em live and I'm more of a fan then ever now.

Anyone else notice how sick Weiland looks in that VR video though? Looks like he had been using drugs around that time but I'm certain he wasn't. Maybe just physical effects from previous use?

Anyway, the Velvet Revolver album hasn't come out yet. June 8. Just remember though, you shouldn't just an album on it's singles. And they've done a very good job of keeping the songs from leaking. As far as I know there are only a few live versions of a few trks around.

On another note ...I think I'm going to get the STP Thank You CD/DVD set. The dvd really seems worth it. Cool. PEaCe

I've seen STP twice in Glasgow 94 and 2001 and those
shows will stick with me forever, Scott Weiland's stage
performance was amazing, i remember 1994 well because i
had 5 broken toes when i went.
Velvet Revolver i like but Scotts situation is sad, we all
know people with addictions and how cruel they are. I'd
love to see them live but thats a slim chance.

That's pretty awesome man. Lucky you, got the chance to see em twice

Yes, Scott and his addictions are a sad situation. I just hope he finally sticks to not using. I'm sure being bi-polar doesn't help at all, but he won't get help for that. If he doesn't stay off the drugs though, he's going to end up as another dead rock star.

Hey, well there's an mtv preview thing up for Velvet Revolver now if anyone wants to check that out. I haven't listened yet, but I'll do that right now.

I hope you all have not been missing out on the album, its been out for almost a week now. All I can say is.......wow!
It's good to hear Slash on the radio again! And Mr. Weiland better not get back into the H again(better yet:hard drugs) for his own good, he has been looking real frail in his latest pictures i've seen. I would like to hear news about another STP album in the future, anyone know anything about that?

Dude, I wish this would happen too but it doesn't look like it. Scott said he's probably not going back with them and he just wants to stay with VR for the rest of his career. We can only hope
