weak mycelial growth?
    #2740320 - 05/28/04 02:13 AM (19 years, 10 months ago)

Hi,
I've grown a few times in the past, each time seperated by a year... All grown from the same spore print/s, however i noticed that every time i grew them, when the jars were colonising and after i birthed them, the mycelia growth never looked anywhere near as snowy and white as the pics i see all the time from other people. Substrate was brf/verm, strain was P.Cubensis Var Australian. Growing conditions were never the best, temp was always lower than i would have liked but couldnt help that at the time... Is this a nutrient problem, because of the strain, have i not let the mycelia grow long enough, or is it just heat/growing conditions? most of the time my cakes looked more brown with bits of white webs of mycelia in it.. they smelt great and sometimes would have a few big shrooms, but never anything like everyone elses pics in their grow logs and the shroomery gallery :frown:

thanx in advance 4 any input!

Dave

I think it might be a mixture of
the strain, and the lower temps.

Its best and healthy est to colonise in the low 80s.
Otherwise it takes longer, and growth is a little
weaker ime. That train may also play a role.

Try another strain, see if its genetic.
