Questions about this forum
    #2695816 - 05/18/04 11:59 AM (19 years, 9 months ago)

1. What makes a plant an ethnobotanical plant per definition? Because in the FAQ it seems like it is just plant that makes you feel good. is this all there is to this definition? i thought it had to do with plants that have been used by ethno groups for any reason. including making fiber

2. Is homeopathic and medicinal plants concideret to be ethnobotanicals?

3. Is this forum also for vegetables, fruit and such?

4. Is there any plant that you arent supposed to talk about on this forum? ie Erythroxylaceae coca to take one example, im thinking about laws and such and that this forum can get in trouble or something.

sorry but im new here, so i figured its better to ask.

We talk about pretty much anything plant and ethno related.

There are a few vegetable growing threads in the Culinary Arts forum if you are interested

I just went and checked the faq, there may have been a sentence that didn't catch your eye.

I had a quesiton in there that said "What's the difference between an ethnobotanical and an entheogen?"

There was a sentence just under that question in bold in the faq that says: "By definition an ethnobotanical is any plant that is used by humans" thus this includes plants for food, fiber, shelter, drugs etc...

You could consider entheogens as a subset of ethnobotanicals.
