Please help!!
the cakes won't come out of their jars - i guess the jars weren't tapered enough...afoaf tried to pull them out with his hands, but they wouldn't come out all the way...have they been damaged because of this?...is there any trick to loosening them out of the jars or is he going to have to case? - if so, can someone please point him in the right direction?, he hasn't done too much research on casing methods, and it's his first grow...the terrarium is ready to go - stablized at 90% rh, mid 70 degrees...

Try to put the jar upside down on a carpet floor (if you have one), and then slam (not too hard) it on the floor.

Just wrap them in a towel and slam them on a hard surface and if that doesnt work,Break out the hammer and Beat the Kids!(jars)

My cat had the exact same problem a week ago. They will come out, just wiggle as you pull, some bruising will occur, dunk them for 12Hours to help them recover once they are out. My cat told me that things are going well with the jars now.

If you're using a regular mouth jar, you can't get it out in one piece. Just use a sterile knife and cut it up in side the jar. Then case it. If you're using wide mouth, just turn it upside down and give it a light slam on some clean tin foil.

just scoop it out with a clean spoon and case it,thats easy enough

ok - my friend decided to break the jars and grow from cakes. Does the terrarium nead to be sanitized (lysol)?...
And should he dunk before he places them in the terrarium?...if so, for how long, and what percentage hydrogen peroxide should he use?

Why dont you just tape up the bottoms of the jars and birth them as casings themselves-that way you wont have to bust the jars and it works great too!
