Web hosting, what's the best deal/packages?
    #2555580 - 04/13/04 04:23 PM (20 years, 7 days ago)

I'm looking to host my own website, as well as recommend a service to someone I'm working with. The two that jump out at me are:

http://www.ipowerweb.com/ Slightly more expensive, but 800 MB of storage and 40 GIGS of transfers seems to justify it.

http://www.edatarack.com/hosting.html Only $3.95 a month, and very close to iPowerWeb.

Registering a domain name is the same at both sites, so what other reasons are there I should pay more to iPowerWeb for? Anything I should know/look out for?

The very nature of experience is ineffable; it transcends cognitive thought and intellectualized analysis. To be without experience is to be without an emotional knowledge of what the experience translates into. The desire for the understanding of what life is made of is the motivation that drives us all. Without it, in fear of the experiences what life can hold is among the greatest contradictions; to live in fear of death while not being alive.

hmm guess it depends on what you'll be doing with your site. The datarack deal seems good though. Two things about ipowerweb that I can comment on: they offer excellent customer service & their servers are quite reliable.

Check if they have ssh access, also if they have PHP and which PHP functions are enabled/disabled.
Something a host will be so much on the safe side, that you are basically crippled if you want to install any PHP script.
DO NOT go for www.globat.com (they fullfill the above points in the negative sense).
