There are quite a few asshole musicians who I don't like as people, but whom I respect as musicians. Here are some that I've noticed:
Guns 'n Roses(Axl Rose being the main asshole here)
Metallica
Bush(I've heard some things about Gavin Rosdale)
Miles Davis
Know of any others?

Edit: I've heard shit about Dave Mustaine being an asshole and everything.... just what I heard though, I don't really know.
The difference being that everyone knows Lars is an asshole and the dude from Dissection killed someone and everything...

I hear yngwie malmsteen is quite a dick.
I've never listened to him and don't know anything about him but this is what I hear.

I read in a magazine that he was on an airplane once and made some derisive comment about gays. The woman sitting next to him said something to him about it and I guess he started yelling at her, something like "Who the fuck do you think you are?!" and then threatened to kill her.

Yeah, I've heard that about Gavin Rossdale too.. he sure can make some good music though.

Well when it comes to METALLICA, it is basically Lars that is the asshole. Although James can tend to be one as well... like how he wouldn't let Jason put out his side project even though he himself was doing all kinds of side projects....

I read in an interview in Rolling Stone with Burt from The Used that said he made a wise comment (I can't remember what the comment was, but it wasn't worthy of said retribution) and billy turned around and kicked him in the side, heh..

Yeah, while smashing pumpkins will always be one of my favorite bands, and I respect his work, supposedly Mr. Corgan is quite the control freak. I read an interview once in which he admitted to pushing the other pumpkins off their instruments and playing the tracks himself if he didn't like how they were doing it in the studio.

As much as I wouldn't praise Trujillo's stage performance, I wouldn't consider him an asshole for it. hehe But Lars is pretty much an asshole. Money money money!! 
I was once at an IN FLAMES concert, and Anders took a moment to go on about the bands that already played. He like made fun of Killswitch Engage and stuff. I thought it was hilarious, considering how they sucked and all... but I'm sure they found him to be an asshole.
