Astronomy * 1
    #25161918 - 04/24/18 09:39 AM (5 years, 10 months ago)

So I need to write a 3 page paper that's due tonight about something that has to do with astronomy/space in general. I'm looking for suggestions on what to write about since my brain is dead.

Lol that's like 500 words haha you could do that in an hour... write about the effects of space on the human body and the training astronauts go through.

--------------------

Ephesians 6:12
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Psalm 12:6
The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.
Hebrews 11:3
Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
Revelation 3:11
Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

I could write a lot on the improbability of space travel given our limited advances.

It's pretty much a death sentence.  No human has been further than the moon.  Plenty almost died doing that.  Also costs a fortune.

Or write about the militarization of space.

You're going to need to write something you know about or have feelings about.

Yeah I'm a really shifty writer lol.. I think I'm going to do the what happens to your body mixed with the space travel thing. Thanks I'll post it in here when I'm done if I can figure out how to. Thanks again

Be sure to include details like how much longer it takea a boner to rise in zero-gravity, and the strange reason for it. Contrarily, also write how women don't need as much breast support in 0grav. Once you do the research, your mind will :mindblown:

That's pretty easy, Sig.

I mean, it's space, you can pretty much do whatever and it'll be interesting.

For example, The Magic School Bus. That's a bus that flies through space...and it sold.

Then you have The Martian...that's about a guy just living in space.

Wall-E's a robot that cleans up trash. Fly him up to space, and you've got yourself a story.

Write a paper about Pisces and turn it in with a straight face.

Is that a closed kinded joke about (astrology, not astronomy)? Or is it a reference to how pisces is curved, and he'd "turn" it in with a 'straight' face?

I sometimes cannot pick up if a person is incredibly stupid or being funny on purpose sometimes.

Edit... sometimes

Effects of Space Travel On Humans and Its Limitations
From the beginning of time, humans have looked up into the night sky with wonder, imagining what is out there. More recently, starting in the 1960’s, humans have began to travel into space. Unfortunately, the human physiology and the conditions endured while traveling in space limit the possible range of travel. NASA puts these challenges into five categories:  Gravity fields, isolation/confinement, distance from Earth, hostile/closed environments, and space radiation.
In space, where there is no gravity, the human body weakens causing muscle loss, decrease in bone density, and many other issues. If an astronaut does not exercise enough, he will gradually lose his muscle strength, heart included, due to inactivity and the lack of resistance to his movements. Also, our bones lose minerals and lose density over time, which can lead to multiple issues, such as osteoporosis, “NASA has learned that without gravity working on your body, your bones lose minerals, with density dropping at over 1% per month” (The Human Body in Space). This shows that if an astronaut is traveling through space for a long time, by the time the destination is reached, he might not even have the strength to do anything. Time is also a large factor since our technology is not advanced enough to be able to travel far in a safe amount of time.
Another issue that would arise is interpersonal conflicts and mental health problems due to the isolation and close living proximity with others. In space, you are working with people who you did not choose, and they are your only physical human contact for the duration of the mission. Over time they will get tired of each other, no matter how well they get along at first, which will lead to numerous more issues and hostilities between coworkers. Depression can also be caused by the extreme isolation, which would decrease productivity and can lead to interpersonal issues as well. Sleep issues can also arise for many reasons one of which is: “You could also develop a sleep disorder because your circadian rhythm might be thrown off” (The Human Body in Space). A third problem, which relates to the isolation issue, is the distance from earth. Radio transmissions will take increasingly long to reach their destinations, as the spacecraft gets further away. If there are any issues with communication, the crew will be on their own and need to be prepared for that possibility.
The fourth and fifth challenges are the harsh conditions inside and out, and the closed environment inside the spacecraft. Inside the craft, the astronauts are in close proximity to each other, sharing their bacteria, and any other microorganisms that may be on or in them. Radiation and stress can both lower the immune system, so it is easier for astronauts to spread illnesses.  The air quality needs to be closely monitored in order to keep the astronauts healthy. Above all, the biggest obstacle to overcome is radiation. The earth is protected by our atmosphere and magnetic poles from the radiation blowing through space. A spacecraft on the other hand, does not have this protective field around it, allowing both the craft’s hull and systems to be damaged but also exposing the astronauts to extreme levels of radiation. The International Space Station, where astronauts encounter ten times the radiation of earth, is within the protective magnetic field of earth (The Human Body in Space). The radiation encountered in space can lead to both short term issues, such as nervous system and tissue damage, and long term issues such as cancers. Food is also affected by radiation, losing its nutritional value, similar to the microwave, which leads to other nutritional problems.
Humans are not designed to be in space, obviously, since spending any extended period of time in space can lead to major health issues. Your body can lose its strength and ability to properly function due to the lack of gravity. People will also get tired of eachother and spread illness due to the close living situation and the metal strain that extreme isolation puts on them. Isolation from earth can lead to communication problems, leaving the astronauts to fend for themselves. Lastly, if all of these other hurdles are passed, the radiation will ultimately kill you if any extended amount of time is spent in space. In conclusion, we are not in a position today, technologically or personally, to survive any extended travel in space.

Here it is :irdumbtard:  :irdumbtard:  :irdumbtard:

I'd try this one.

They just recently released articles about the two twins who are no longer sharing identical DNA because of the one who was in space for so long.

I've taken the liberty of preparing the citation you can put into your essay, in APA format.
