Questions about fruiting, light and temperature

I have 6 cakes that are dunked and soaking overnight (my first attempt, going well so far). I will be rolling them in verm tomorrow and placing in the FC. I have some questions about lighting and temperature.
Lighting - I have (1) 6500K bulb on a dangling fixture, centered over the FC and pointing directly down through a transparent lid. Will this be sufficient? Should it be further from or closer to the FC?
Temperature - I've seen a lot of people throw out some crazy numbers, but more than once I recall reading that fruiting at a lower temp results in more density/potency. Any truth to this? Anyone care to recommend their preferred temp?
Thanks to everyone for getting me this far! It amazes me how much I've learned from this message board.

Light is fine as is. Room temp works great

You could probably move that light a teeny bit closer like 6 inches to a foot.
Is that a shotgun fruiting chamber?
If not you should build one before you birth your cakes.

Will do, thanks!
It is a shotgun fruiting chamber, hard to see the holes in that photo. Drilled 1/4 inch hole every 2 inches. Underestimated my initial perlite needs, going to get more tomorrow.

Cubes fruited in cooler temperatures will have solid meaty stipes. When cubes are grown in warmer temperatures growth is faster, but the stipes will be hollow.
6500k lighting is ideal, and your placement of it is fine. Just be sure lighting isn't so close that it raises temperature of fruiting chamber beyond acceptable fruiting temperature range.

I did end up lowering my light a bit, maybe 6 inches. It's very centered over the FC which appeases my OCD. Keeping the temps between 70 and 75, typically closer to 75.
I figured equally spacing them apart seemed logical. Are my foil squares too big?
I've seen some cakes in FCs that don't appear to have much verm, while others seem to have a lot or even too much caked on. What is best? I opted for a decent layer, can't see much white mycelium on any of my cakes.

The more verm you can get to stick on the cakes the better.
You should trim that foik back to 1/4 inch around the cakes or so
Temps are perfect.
The more light the better, as long as it isn't drying your substrate out or cooking it. So I would say that's perfect

Your cakes look really nice! but your right about your foil being too big, cut those down to about the same diameter as your cakes. Only other thing I'd suggest is to get something taller to prop up your SGFC to at least 6 inches off the ground.

I have some scrap wood laying around, will build a little stand for it. Once I felt the weight of the chamber with damp perlite I knew my little cardboard supports wouldn't hold up long. Figured I'd end up making something a little more stable anyway. Is the at least 6 inches idea so it can get better air exchange?

Yup at least six is ideal.
I've gotten away with just using 4 coffee mugs or something similar.

Update: 2 days in FC. No signs of growth yet. Lighting 12 and 12 on/off. Temps have been between 72-75F.
My humidity hasn't been super high. If my hygrometer is correct, between 60-85%.
Before I opened the lid and took this photo it said 80%.
Will they grow at around 80% or should I take action to raise the humidity? Could my hygrometer height make a difference?
Should I move it down closer to the perlite level to get a reading closer to the level of the cakes?
Also added a little stand for some airflow elevation. It's about 4" so not quite 6" but better than 1.5" like I had.

It's not about humidity. It's about surface conditions.
You can grow in open aor just by misting.

85% is fine for a SGFC.
If you were able to test the humidity around your cakes it would be like 99% humidity.
Just keep em misted.
Also deja vu.

I was hoping you'd been in my bathroom before. That reason makes more sense though I guess.
