My kit is fruiting slowly... I think?

In order to try growing myself for the 1st time I got a kit instead of trying to do something too complex. I think I did all the steps correctly, everything was clean, the straw was grown through with mycelium, and clean earth was added. Now though, I have my box look like the picture below, but when researching this before, I saw people posting pictures where their earth is atleast partially white due to mycelium spreading to it from the straw below. Was hoping someone can tell me if this looks ok, or if perhaps I can make some changes.

First of all we dont use "earth" so im assuming you used dirt from outside. Plain old dirt wont have any nutrients so the myc won't colonize it. But it will act as a casing layer.
Looks as good as can be expected for a kit. Good job.
If you want better yields learn how to make your own spawn and the whole world of mushroom growing will be open to you.

Well i did use a kit. So I used the "earth" that came with it, and sterilized it in the microwave, etc.
I will hopefully be trying to do some less... cookie cutter growing later. I do understand that this is just some pretty basic stuff

You basically added a casing layer. Since you have a couple of fruits growing, you are doing something right. I would be patient and wait for more to pop up.
how long has it been since you added the top soil?

I think it's been about... maybe 2 weeks or so? I am a tad surprised that I already have these 2, but also wondering if the others will make it >_>

May I ask what you mean by that?

When the cap opens up cut it off the stem, place the cap on a clean freshly unrolled sheet of foil and turn a clean glass upside down over the cap to protect it.
Wait 12 hours and you will have a spore print for your next grow.
After 12 hours remove the cap feon the foil but replace the glass and allow the print to dry for a while.
Once its dry, remove the glass and fold the print immediately to keep it as clean as reasonably possible.

Hmm... They got bigger and also fell... Should I be ready to harvest this one once it fully opens it's cap? OR...
Also, since I am still new at this, can someone confirm that im growing the right thing and these arent some wrong species due to accidental contamination?

They look like cubes to me.
You probably won't get a second flush so you could wait until those are completely mature to make sure you get the most weight possible.

They aren't.
It's because you bought a kit.

Feels bad. I suppose for next time I shall try a slightly more complex method that works better.

Don't feel bad Renen. lots of people have trouble with kits, you just happened to be another victim here.
At least you got enough fruits for a trip for yourself! Some people don't even get that.
I'm gonna propose something kinda risky but if youre up for it. It might get you a better 2nd or 3rd flush.

Sure, I don't mind suggestions. Let me know if there's anything I can do to motivate these guys, or the 2nd/3rd flush of them. Poor shrooms... So lonely :{
