I accept that the Russia witchhunt does get out of hand but he always seems to want to shut down legitimate inquiries.
He is right that working with Russia on a number of issues is, of course, a good idea.

Almost all our leaders are corrupt.
Putin is corrupt. Trump is corrupt. Obama was corrupt.
I dont think de-escalating a new cold war is a bad thing, but I'm also not gonna shrug off some clear conflicts of interest between the Trump administration and various autocrats.

I think there is a lot of hot air and a shocking lack of evidence for something that is framed as undeniable. If they had evidence for their claims then surely we would see things happening. When there is evidence to meet the accusations, I'll believe it. In the meantime, there are plenty of legitimate questions for investigation.
