Theres a US aircraft carrier outside Korean waters ans North Korea wants to sink it to show its "military might".

It's a carrier group. Those involve lot's of vessels. Usually subs on the far outer area. Lot's of smaller vessels that can deter a lot. The carrier is the prize vessel.
They learned a lot since and during WWII.

Only so many at a time. Torpedo's are much much more difficult. There are many smaller vessels that North Korea has that use torpedoes.
But with land support they wouldn't have more than one chance at one shot.
I have no idea how to figure military chaos. That's were the real strategy and predictions have been worked out and practiced.

The Carl Vinson strike group with two Japanese destroyers have about 38 sea wiz's on deck with 304 sea sparrow missle at ready.

Once again I don't know how they deal with torpedo's.
Subs have anti torpedo tech. I have no idea what North Korea has for torpedo's. I know very little about their delivery vessels.
Being swarmed would suck. Hope they ate their last dog!

Well those are all diesel subs and not even newer more silent diesels.
There are also many surface vessels that carry torpedoes.
If they took all those out at port that would be best. That or just crush the staving will of the North Korean dog eating sailors.
Face it, someone on the Allied side is going to die and it's going to crush someones heart. It's easy for USA people to feel invincible but real blood in tears and a departed that ain't coming back the same hurts.

I don't have a lot of love for dismemberment. Although I have a belief of a skill that can take a person dying back to the same infinite moment of time and repair to live again. That's gotta get mighty complicated with distractions.

As for naval warfare, seems like tensions are getting high with the US carrier (and japanese ships) getting near. I didt know the Japanese were our allies. How ironic.

I don't think North Korea could hit Australia or the west coast yet with a nuke....but they are developing that.
They have a missle for awhile that could but the warhead is another issue.

North Korea won't do shit.
Kim Jong Un might be crazy (i don't know), but suicidal people don't end up in the kind of positions of power he occupies.
I certainly have no doubts as to the consequences of attacking a U.S. carrier group. NK would be flattened, and americans wouldn't even feel bad about it for 60-80 years, at least.

Yeah i was thinking about this yesturday: Why doesnt North Korea attack? Are they afraid?
Its either:
(A) theyre afraid to attack the US.
(B) theyre waiting for the perfect time to attack the US in hopes of winning in an offensive attack.
(C) Some unknown reason.
I really wish i could be a fly on the wall in North Korea: Im super curious if the NK gov is feeding propaganda to the people saying "we attacked the US and won!" Or something like that. I wonder if they brag about attacks on other countries even when they actually havent?
