Have you ever been mistaken for a different nationality or ethnicity?

What are the weirdest ones you've gotten?
I once got Kazakhstan, and another time I got Peruvian.
The Kazakh one sort of makes sense, because the women look pretty much Eurasian (see image below). But the Peruvian one I didn't really see.

A kid in my neighborhood called me chinese once but really I just look high all the time.
I also took advantage of this when I actually started smoking bud
-------------------- Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Psalm 12:6 The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Hebrews 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. Revelation 3:11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

Was called a filthy native and targeted as Métis at a few points in my youth but kids and teens can be dumb and they could have been doing the Métis ones due to having a French last name have only a very minor amount of Métis blood, not really visibly discernible
Worked in a factory for a bit years ago, before ever putting dreadlocks in, and not yet smoking pot three different coworkers one from Trinidad, one from Haiti and one from Ghana insisted upon treating me as Jamaican and nicknamed me different variations of Marley
Tho cannot complain, as the gentleman from Trinidad also decided to 'adopt' me and his wife started sending me absolutely bomb lunches of things like curried goat and curried mango from time to time
The Haitian gentleman in particular provided a strange experience, as caught a ride home with him and three African immigrants on one occasion to which he made an observation that effectively amounted to "five blacks in a junker, if the cops see us we're getting pulled over" though utilizing terminology that it would be to my preference not to repeat by typing here

Then again. I've lived in N.Bucks' for decades so maybe I've lost the old and aquired a new accent, my London tends to come out more when I'm drunkin. But Yokel? fuck off.

Sometimes people think I'm Italian. Probably because of my thick luxurious brown locks, olive-toned skin and italianesque charm.

Last year someone asked me "Australian, right?". I was like 'Huh' and he said something like 'You're Austrailian, right? I can tell by your accent'. Quite strange as my accent is mostly Philly(non-south).
I've been told that i look Jewish before several times(I only have 0.2% Ashkenazi Jew ancestry). Oh yes, another memorable one was when i was with my Boricua lover and someone asked if we were brothers(i'm quite pale for a non-ginger white and he's a darker latino). It was quite flattering at least as, besides his intense beauty, i'd much rather be latino than white.
Looking at myself i'd say that i appear English, which makes sense as i have 50.7% British/Irish ancestry.

When I came back from my first two years in Europe I had a bit of a Germanic accent, and being tall and blond everyone asked me if I was South African.

This guy at my old job once asked me if I was Russian, but I'm actually Dutch, German, British, French and 1/8 Ukrainian.
Pretty hard to mistake me for anything other than white AF Sometimes people think my hair is red, that's kinda weird.

Everyone always assumes I'm either Italian or Greek but I'm a near perfect 50/50 split of Dutch and German.

I spent a month fishing in Baja a few years ago. I had been spending 12+ hours per day on the water, and my italian heritage allows for me to become quite dark with prolonged exposure to the sun. The day after i got home, i was loading some stuff into the back of my old boss's plumbing truck when some gardeners pulled up and asked me for directions in spanish. I understood what they were asking, but i responded in english. The guy says "thanks, my friend" or some variation of that, and drives away. He clearly spoke fine english, but he had asked me in spanish, apparently assuming that it was my first language based on my appearance.
