Preparing Agar Jars with Micropore tape only as Filter.

Hey guys. I am gonna give myself a go at doing Agar. Im a complete newb in this hobby. So please give me a chance to be stupid. I failed at pf tek (probably because of a contaminated print i got from wild shrooms that i found). So I decided to learn agar. The problem is these are the only materials that i have (As far as preparing agar is concerned) :
-Pressure Cooker -Quart Jars -Syringes -Micropore tape -Oatmeal agar ingredients I dont have access to tyvek and polyfill.
What I am planning to do is: 1. Drill 1 hole per jar lid 2. Cook the Agar 3. Pour into quart jars 4. Close the lids (Tape the lid holes with micropore) then cover them with foil 5. Pressure cook the jars and let cool 6. Inject spores using syringes with my probably contaminated prints. 7. Let them colonize then do transfers.
Will this method be viable? Any tips on how I can pull this one off will be so f***in appreciated. Thanks!

If your not in the process right now wait and grab some free tyvek envelopes from your local post office..i only used tape on jars for years without any problems from it that wouldn't have existed anyway..you can even have free shipping materials shipped to your house...

Thats not possible. As I have said, I have no access to Tyvek. Forever.

Here's the most popular agar Tek on the site. Its hard not to accidentally find it if you type agar Tek in the search engine...

some of us do not post in advance forum because we know our bounds.
advanced forum SHOULD have some kind of douche filter but not that obtuse. or based off of post stats.(hint* im like 98% cult forum)
ANYWAY.. OP,
trying to cut agar out of a quart jar is not going to be practical. i use tape and tyvek. you can survive without the tyvek but i like being careful.
everything else about agar is incredibly straight forward so its hard to fuck up.
grow a culture. cut a clean, healthly leading edge piece and drop on another plate/perti grow out, repeat if needed. use wedge as inoculate in numerous ways.

Nope. I go in to any hardware store I can find. People here just dont have a use for that sheet. *pun intended* anyways, forget tyvek. ill roll with just micropore. Ill just be extra careful.

another problem with large jars is going to be that when you inject the spores into the jar from that height they are going to splash all over the surface of the agar which may result in growth that is too disorganized to find any clean transfer sections.
