infinite pertinence of Alice In Wonderland to psychedelics

Does anyone else see the infinite pertinence of the story of Alice In Wonderland to the psychedelic experience? It may just be me, as the first time I ever took a psychedelic I watched the movie, but since then I've been able to draw infinite parallels between the two. As I phrased it in the midst of an excpetional psychedelic journey:
Quote:
Everything about shrooms can be related to Alice, and everything in Alice can be related to shrooms...
I'm sure I'm not alone on this issue, as I've heard it from other people, and I've also heard the rumor that Lewis Carroll was on either mushrooms or cacti or some organic form of DMT. But they are just rumors.
Anybody?

Holy shit you lucky bastard! Its not fair I want to live in cube land with you guys!
But yea Alice in wonderland totally deals with psychedelics in my opinion. They have the caterpillar who sits on a aminita and then in the flower scene they talk about morning glory's witch are active. Especially the scence where she's falling down the hole where everything just turns strange. I'm not sure what drug that would give that type of effect but im gonna guess acid. This movie is made for stoners and most likely by stoners.

Ive never thought psychedellics are much like "Alice in Wonderland". The trips are too logical to compare to that well. A. muscaria and A. pantheria mushrooms induce a much more "ALice in Wonderland" like trip. At least in terms of the funny thinking they induce.

I don't know if I'd say psychedelics, per se, but more drugs in general. Grace Slick certainly saw it, back in 1965, when she was with her first band, the Great Society...
White Rabbit Grace Slick
One pill makes you larger And one pill makes you small, And the ones that mother gives you Don't do anything at all. Go ask Alice When she's ten feet tall.
And if you go chasing rabbits And you know you're going to fall, Tell 'em a hookah smoking caterpillar Has given you the call. Call Alice When she was just small.
When the men on the chessboard Get up and tell you where to go And you've just had some kind of mushroom And your mind is moving low. Go ask Alice I think she'll know.
When logic and proportion Have fallen sloppy dead, And the White Knight is talking backwards And the Red Queen's "off with her head!" Remember what the dormouse said: "Feed your head. Feed your head. Feed your head"

Have you ever seen the film version of Alice in Wonderland, made in the 60s? Very psychedelic ideas... Here is the site http://www.alice-in-wonderland.fsnet.co.uk/film_tv_miller_01.htm

Actually, from what I understand, Lewis Carroll was into opium, a heavy user, and that Walt Disney (not the guy, I mean the people who draw and create the animation) was into psychedelic. Maybe I'm wrong Also, if you guys are talking about the drawings and scenery in the movie, then that wouldn't really be Carroll's work, but rather Walt Disney, right? Of course the story was all Carroll's work.

I absolutly love Alice In Wonderland. I have these two posters in my room:
Lewis Carrol defintely used opium, and NEVER used LSD since it wasn't around back then. That much we know for a fact.
Obivously it would be only a very outside chance of him using psilocybin mushrooms since they didn't gain recognition in the modern society until later. I believe there was a good chance he used/tried fly agaric mushrooms, since the mushroom Alice eats makes her larger or smaller. Body distortion is a very common theme with fly agaric. More modern images with Alice & fly agaric suggest this, but those were drawn by different people. I can't remember what his original drawings were life.

To be without experience is to be without an emotional knowledge of what the experience translates into. The desire for the understanding of what life is made of is the motivation that drives us all. Without it, in fear of the experiences what life can hold is among the greatest contradictions; to live in fear of death while not being alive.

An anime Alice in Wonderland would be awesome. Even better would be a movie version of 'American Mcgee's Alice'. If you have never played this insane PC Game modeled after a twisted Alice in Wonderland, it is very very trippy. Also a very dark Alice in Wonderland. Actually a movie is in possible production & could be directed by Wes Craven. I really hope this movie happens!!
