I've found Texans to be the best. These jars started pinning right at 100% colonization, and the picture you see is from 30 days after inoculation. Just expose to normal room light from day one.

very nice as always, roger (those bible pics rocked!)
but why would anyone want to grow invitro like that, except for stealth or as an experiment? the fruits grow small, few, squashed, and difficult to harvest. still, i suppose if you have no terrarium.....

anyway. it's christmas day and us saddos are online at the shroomery. good luck to the poster above with his invitro hobby - there's no such thing as a bad grow, if it ends in shroomies

As already stated, the only advantages is if you want to grow stealthily (invitro jars are easily hidden) or if you, for some reason, have no available terrarium. In most cases you will want to case your jars or let them fruit as cakes.

yeah invitro obviously isn't ideal, but it will be necessary. as long as the end product comes out, though...

thanks again for the suggestions

someone has a few small jars going invitro right now -- simply out of curiosity. just think it looks sweet.

You certainly don't get the quantity with invitro as with other methods. Stealth and ease would be the two main reasons. If you work a lot of hours at your job, you probably don't have time to come home and spend hours working on a hobby. With invitro, once the spawn is inoculated, just sit back and wait for effortless fruits. They dig out with a fork easily, then the jar is filled up with water and put in the refrigerator for 24 hours, then drained, and the process repeated. The fruits are small and deformed, but a bag of small, deformed, dry fruits look almost just like a bag of big beautiful dry fruits.
