Still Air Glovebox project

ok, so after much delay and no little bit of research I finally came up with an inexpensive glovebox that I believe will work exceptionally well.

After reading all the debate over positive pressure glove boxes it seemed to me that keeping it simple would increase my chances of success. so here's what I came up with.

The idea is that the flange on the 4" pvc will help hold it in plae while the "bonder" cement on the inside will keep it airtight. I used a rotozip to cut the holes, works very well The gloves are just strecthed over the pvc so they can be easily removed/replaced when the time comes.

The orange gloves shown were to short to be useful so I did some searching and found a case of real rubber gloves with cotton inserts 15" long ideal for this kind of work. See my post here for more info on the gloves.

And so after 30 mins of cutting and 24 hrs of glue drying time it's ready to go.

Ya know, unless your have really large arms, plastic, collapsable, inexpensive, clothes-drier vent hose can be used to extend your rubber gloves into glove box arms. You can duct-tape gloves onto 1/2 a coffee can (edges taped) and the drier hose to the other side of the coffee cans, and the hoses can be fixed to yet two other 1/2 coffee cans mounted to the box with large hose clamps. A 3/4" board can have arm-holes cut out, the coffee cans can then be fitted firmly into the cut-outs and fastened with brads/small tacks for strength. Just an idea (that works).

you'll also find it much easier to work if your arm holes are spaced much further apart,this provides a more natural,less spastic working posture.having your hands/forearms so close together is going to make you feel like a seal.
