Visual Imprinting

What causes me to get visually imprinted when doing a visual task? Today I high graded a lot of electric blue obsidian and I keep seeing the prettiest flashes of blue light exactly like the obsidian. When I pick mushrooms, I'll see little mushrooms in my mind all night. This seems to only happen with things I love to do and are visually intense. What's going on here exactly?

I wouldn't even question it from playing video games, but something as simple and natural as picking shrooms or inspecting rocks seems less invasive to the eyes or brain. I guess everything we see is reflected sunlight though, and that's a lot more radiating than any computer screen.

You enjoy it so much that your brain reaches a subconsciously obsessive level. I get the same thing when Im deep in the math zone. After studying or doing some intense homework stuff, I lay awake for hours solving equations in my head. I even dream about it. Its totally involuntary as well..

I get it bad when I'm in a crystal pocket. I see crystals growing all night and can't stop thinking about them. Maybe it's a good gauge that more people should use when choosing their path. I get it from picking berries too.
