yet another mycobag question
    #2181680 - 12/16/03 03:48 AM (20 years, 3 months ago)

I looked through the mycobag growlogs and most of the 2nd/3rd flush pics the caps were cracked. I was thinking of adding some vermiculite to the WBS. Thoughts?

Or is misting between flushes sufficient?

I just don't want to come across this same problem.

if youre getting a mycobag, dont open it until you are ready to case it, and i dont think you can fruit directly off of the substrate with WBS mycobags, you should probably case the mycobag once its colonized 100%

Maybe try dunking that never hurts between flushes.

Inever had a problem fruiting in the bag on any grain, it holds the humidity at a reasonable level and if folded and taped after soaking the seconf flush is usualy great, I grew an 11 inch cambodian in the bag, I had to harvest it a little early because it was nearing the top

My biggest fruits sometimes crack when they open their caps... perfectly natural with some cubes.

That happens as the caps go from round to flat.

You can spray your bags, inject water in the center, or dunk them.

My friend likes to spray the bags... and dump out the extra water the next day.

especially when they grow super fast, sucking up water faster than they can make mushroom material. makes them rip, burst, crack, whatever you want to call it. i cant count how many busted stems/caps i saw when i grew.

"if youre getting a mycobag, dont open it until you are ready to case it"

you don't have to case it either, open bag carefully and fruit as a cake. I have had great results with this method. I have aslo cased, and bulk substrated with these bags, any route you try they are vertiually ful-proof if you are sanitary.
