Sounds fine... in another week or so... you should have pins... could be sooner.

Good luck

GREAT

this is a TEST casing because I was to stupid to take the tape of the breathing hole and so the mycelium choked most of its life, and stayed small, and my dumb ass didnt figure out why until I decided to do this TEST casing.

if this goes well I will have the other 3 quarts go well I figure

I fanned about once a day so far, now that I really want pins I should kick the fanning up to 4 times a day right???????,I know thats one factor!, so less co2 more light and the right temp and time is all I have left I guess , and it took awhile but my chamber is now huming along at 75!!!!

You should do fine with only 2 fannings a day. You don't need much light to start pinning, infact the less the better, give it 4, 6, or 12 hrs of a light a day and it'll be great, no more then 12 though.

why no more then 12?????

I was just leaving it on when I was awake, thinking that the more light the better?????

and if they dont feed off light and it only triggers them why would more then 12 be bad ????

thanks for your help by the way

They gain no nutrients from the light, it's only required to trigger pinning hormones and tell them witch way to grow, mushrooms grow in darkness, so giving them total light would allow no growth.. The more darkness the better becuase they will grow more.

I knew that they only needed it to pin but I didnt know the actual GROWING ,ALL HAPPENED IN THE DARK

but why would it not be that way!!!, thats how it happens outside!
cool, I will stop using so much light, cool then I can tuck the fruiting chamber IN WITH the incubation chamber more to conserve heat!

Ok .....NOW I feel that all systems are go full steam ahead!!!!
thanks

patience is indeed the key, it took me about 10 days to see results. I wouldn't be paranoid yet bro.

Light has had little to no effect on my friend, don quixote's growing... sure a cycle is better... but 24/7 is fine... you won't miss much in bulk... and you'll watch 'em grow

I thought they grew in both light and dark to, but maybe the most growth happens in the dark?????

I guess it doesnt matter cause if you "buddy" just watches 24\7 well they are obviously growing

I promise they do... but a cycle does seem to speed things up a bit... as a n00b, my friend likes to watch 'em.

I wait on colonization the same way. PCing jars. HeHe.

Also, if mushrooms only grow in the dark then why is that Anno's time laps video showed so much grow during lighted periods.  A cycle is best, but growth can happen in the light or the dark.

I guess I should have been more specific, they will grow with total light, but from what i've seen they always grow faster and better with more darkness applied. Often few or no pins have been shown with some strains when using 24/7 light either, but this is totaly based on a friends experiments.
