Shrink Wrap Film Cake? (a "what if" thread...)

Just to open the debate, would it be useful at all to birth a PF Cake, Dunk 24hours and heat shrink-wrap all sides except for the "top?"  Wouldn't this prevent side/bottom pinning, keep the cake moist and force all pins/fruits out the top instead of sides?

Thoughts...

I don't see why not, but why take it out of the jar at all if your gunna do that?

my jars tend to shrink, leaving space for pinning on sides/bottom.

heat shrink should remove that space, correct?

I doubt it. Usually it pins because of light or any favorable condition for pins occurs in that spot. Can't stop nature. But try it why not.

Well yes the shrinkage... Is it not going to shrink after you shrink wrap it? Its still going to lose moisture that you're supposed to replace correct? I personally wouldn't do it, but would love to see you test it out. For science!

Subrate is likely just dehydrated, if you soak them they may expand again.

i used to just soak mine inthe jar and always avoided side pins till after the first flush anyway

I've got a dozen jars in process now, I'll try a few and see what happens once they are ready.
