Anyone doing Lent?

Today is the first day of Lent, meaning many people will be giving up something for 40 days in commemoration of Jesus' 40 days fast in the desert in the biblical narrative.
I am going to give up alcohol for 40 days, starting today.
Many will be giving up meat, which is traditional, or even fasting.
I am also going to try not to masturbate for this 40 days.
My other goal is to switch entirely to wild caught game meats, and not eat any factory farmed/unethical meats.
Anyone else going to give something up for 40 days of lent?

If I did give up something for Lent, it'd probably be alcohol.

I will be giving up Lent, as I do every year.

Bro, you know what would prove your devotion and strengthen your religious convictions at the same time? Giving up Shroomery for Lent.

I'm going to give up all conventions for 40 days. I've decided I'm really gonna get weird with it.

Giving up the shroomery for 40 days is not a bad idea either, but realistically 1 thing for 40 days is probably hard enough and doing more then 3 is probably unrealistic.

You know what. You inspired me too. I'm going to give up alchohol for 40 days for lent. Not because its a religious thing, but because I'm afraid I'm becoming an alcoholic and 40 days will be a good test of my will power. Thank you for the shroomy idea.

Good move man. I am doing it more for the health benefits and because I dont want to be a drinker anymore too, but the religious thing makes it easier to commit to a specific start date and duration.
Let me know how you go, if you start today we can encourage each other both to make it, or at least make it a contest to see who can.

The funny thing, when I read if we start today my first reaction was to start tomorrow. I think I better start today. I haven't had anything to drink yet so lets do it. Be begin now and end on Easter!
