how sterile while preparing jars

while preparing jars(mixing subtrate and filing jars) how clean or sterile should everything be. does it make much of a difference since the jars will be pressure cooked or steam sterilized afterwards. is just being fairly clean(spraying everything with lysone, wiping stuff down, ect.) enough. i know sterility is very important while inocculating the jars and everything but i wasn't really sure about this step

you got it right. you should be clean, but you needn't be sterile.
