White fuzz on pins

I was wondering if the white fuzzy stuff on the heads of my pins is normal. They are about 3 days old.
You can just see what Im talking about in this pix. The cluster on the far left has some on them.
I have some better pix but will have to wait till tomorrow, Im out of memory again

Completely normal, nothing to worry about--your pins look really good. Someone else will know exactly why some strains have the white spots.

Probably just a little bit dry. Doesn't look too bad but you might want to raise the humidity a bit.

I would if I could but I have NO way to regulate the humidity . I have gone as cheap as possible. I bought only the bare bones minimum ammount of stuff to start my first grow attempt. Have you been to my grow log? I have tried very hard to keep up with what I have done. The link to it is in my signature.
Here are some closer pix of the white on the pins

Dude -- you need to dump like 1-2" of damp perlite in the bottom of that incubator. Perlite is cheap, but that little amount is never going to humidify that big-ass bin >95% rH.
Also make sure the bag is sealing it air-tightly; I've had 5-10% drops in rH just because of one little opening.
You don't really need to "regulate" the humidity -- just get it as high as you can!

I have a small glass of h2o in the corner and I keep some water in the bottom of the container. I microwave the glass to heat the water so it will steam up the container. I also put ice cubes in the bottom to help keep temps around 65-70.

It is my understanding that mycelium growing on pins/fruiting bodies often results from TOO MUCH humidity (and possibly sub-optimal gas exchange IMO). That's certainly what it looks like to me from the pics. However, like Che_Night_Soil said, you really needn't worry about it. What are you doing for gas exchange? Fanning I assume? Perhaps you may try fanning one or two times extra per day, to draw off a bit of humidity plus aid in gas exchange, and see what happens. I could certainly be wrong (I know conventional wisdom says go all out with humidity for cakes) but my LIMITED experience seems to support this.

I have been fanning 2-4 times a day. More on the days that Im off. The days that I work I can only fan twice daily.
There are only a few with the white stuff on the caps. Im not going to worry about it too much.

I think they look great...Keep up the good work! Your grow log is very good...Not only can others use the info but it's always good to look back on and find your mistakes as well as what worked the best for you.
