Okay, so they're not official high-quality, professional recordings like I was promised… I haven't gotten around to it yet, because my pieces aren't totally perfect yet.
So, this will just have to do for now:
AND, PLEASE do not quote any of these videos. I plan on taking them down once the thread dies.
I took out the videos and just decided to put up a link instead:

Good job.

Just finished the first piece. What a gorgeous ballad on the Grand Staff!
Look it takes alot of cojones to post these up Crystal. I salute you!
Being a music major (and a half adequate one) if you want constructive criticism here you go. I knew you were a big girl. The difference (IMHO) between a good player and a professional lies in the ability to 1. Take all criticism in a logical manner. 2. Good players practice till they get it right. Professionals practice till they can't get it wrong. (That costs money to learn y'know ) Anywho the first 40 bars on the first piece was beautiful, but if I were you I'd try and not practice with metronomes anymore. It seemed like you were a little nervous with your F clef stuff. The cadenzas with the right hand were nice and smooth but I felt like in the later parts of the piece you really got both hands harmoniously tickling the ivories so to speak. Neal Pert took time off of Rush to study with the masters of drumming because he felt like he was "too perfect". Nobody wants a drum machine for a drummer. He studied with greats like Buddy Rich and other Jazz drummers and he'd mentioned something about the "feel" being more important than being right.
Practice those first forty bars slow as possible with as much feeling as you can. Try and match where you're going with it. Hope that makes sense. Great job crystal.

Moonlight Sonota is a beautiful piece when I used to practice piano that was the last one I learned, sadly I quit because I was lazy should have kept at it.

Clearly your better at piano than at politics and law.

To be honest, I am so busy with work lately I don't have very much time to practice. I didn't practice today or yesterday. I managed to get 30 minutes in the day before that. I'm lucky if I even have 1 hour to practice anymore. All I have enough time now is to play each piece once, and that's it.

Oh honey, I am nowhere close to the professional level. I played at the college level for 2 semesters, and I wasn't even anywhere near the top level of students.
That's interesting that you thought that my playing was too metronome-like. I never practice with a metronome. And my Van Cliburn concert pianist teacher said that my first Schubert piece was off in tempo in a few measures. I also like to add pauses when the scales peak, so that it sounds more dynamic, instead of playing the entire thing in the same tempo.
I can take criticism very well though. Mainly because my piano teacher (a former Juilliard professor), she never ever once told me I was good. She always told me with straight-up honesty, whether I was ready to play at a college or professional-level or not. She won't tell you you are good enough to get into a conservatory if you are not. She will straight up say you have no chance in hell if it's the honest truth.
I remember one time, years ago, she literally told me I had "NO CHANCE of getting into Juilliard. Not even with my recommendation and connections. You aren't even close to their level yet. We'll see in a few more years, IF you even practice." (At that time I did not practice at all LOL)
I would really like to enter the Van Cliburn competition (the most prestigious and famous piano competition in the world, there are like 50,000 competitors every 4 years, it's like the piano Olympics).
I know I have no chance at the Van Cliburn professional division, since everybody who makes it in the competition is a professional concert pianist or famous music professor or something. HOWEVER, I've found out that the Van Cliburn has an amateur, non-professional division for those who are age 35 years or older.
I do plan on entering the amateur division once I reach 35 years of age, I think I am good enough for the amateur competition at least. And hopefully by age 35 I will be able to play something impressive such as Liszt's Transcendental Etude (either No 4 Mazeppa or No 10). Or at least have that Beethoven Moonlight 3rd movement perfected by then.
I mean, the last person who won the amateur Van Cliburn league only played Rachmaninov's easiest Prelude ever (the one in C# minor that like 14 year olds play). I can already beat that.
If only I had the time to practice.

That's interesting, because I studied political science at university, not piano. Well, I did study piano, but only for 2 semesters.
Also, I quit piano for almost a decade, and just started playing it again 6 months ago. So if anything, I should still be terrible at piano (at least compared to the big leagues, anyway). Perhaps you just don't have an ear for music.

You're obsessed with archery and I beat you the first time I ever played it, which is a much, much greater feat than composing the Moonlight Sonata.
