a color nobody has seen

what if you saw a color that has never been seen and it wasn't just a shade of a known color, just imagine, it is impossible to imagine a color that we haven't ever seen. i don't think it is scientifically possible but what if...you know?
i thought this should maybe be in OTD but i think that readers here would grasp the idea better. anyone ever thought about seeing a color that has never been seen?

yeah, i sometimes think about what if what we saw as red, green, blue, etc. all looked different to different people since we only know the colors by differentiating each from others. like you said, its impossible to imagine.

just like we an only hear sounds that vibrate between 20 to 20,000 times per second (anything above is called ultrasonic) we also can only see a small part of the color spectrum, IMHO

I have heard of people seeing colors that we don't perceive in this world, and it always happens during a spiritual experience of some sort. Our physical eyes can only see a fraction of the spectrum like someone pointed out.
Personally never experienced it myself, but it must be frustrating to try to describe that..impossible even.

is it even possible to think of a color? I dunno about you, but whenever I try to think of say green, I believe I'm seeing green(in my mind), but on closer inspection it isn't green at all. More of a hazy, unstable blur of whatever, mind jargon i dunno. I believe I am thinking of greeness, but perhaps it is just memories or representations of green. Try it yourself, think of a color, or anything for that matter, a clock. No matter how hard you concentrate, you can't seem to bring about a solid picture that you can transfer into the physical world, because thoughts are not meant for the physical world. What I'm saying is, when you think of a clock, you get an image of a mind clock, not a physical clock. Anyways, here's a thought: Is it possible to think of "colour" without thinking of any specific "colour"? (we spell it "colour" here in Canada.)

"our eyes and brain are not equipped to handle more than what we see. Thats our chemistry... so they say. Maybe other beings can..."
I think our eyes and brain are equipped in this way in order to assist in our survival.. If we could see the full spectrum of light, I don't think we'd even be able to see the ground right under us!

The flourescent colors (Like highliter pens and stuff) were recently invented. I think in the 40's or 50's. Until then those colors were only visible with ultraviolet light.
I'm pretty sure about this but, I don't have a link yet.

i've also realized that thing about when you think of an object but you can't really see the object in your head when you close your eyes, you just know what it looks like from memory and you think of it and "see it" but you don't see it really because there is no visual...weird.
I want to see SQUANT!!...also, what a terrible name for a color. i'd call it something else...any suggestions for renaming squant? lol

I thought it was just DMT within the body not 5meo, at least thats what I remember from the rick straussmen book. Also imagine a world where everyone was blind, and 1 or 2 people could actually see, they would be looked upon as withces, freaks, or people with special telepathic type powers, when really they can just see.
