Making One's Own Autoclavable Bag with Filter Patch?
    #2016702 - 10/16/03 11:09 PM (20 years, 5 months ago)

I'm curious if anyone could explain the methodology for applying a filter patch to an autoclavable bag. I know a lot of shroomery members do this, but do they just rip the bag and glue on the filter patch. Anyone know?

Also, once you have these bags, can you stack as many as you can fit into the pressure cooker for sterilization, or is there a need to give each some room?

I just glue the Tyvek filter patch with a heat resistant glue.

You'll achieve better sterilization if you give each bag some room in the pressure cooker. They heat up more evenly this way.
