does light appear to be conscious?
    #2009323 - 10/14/03 07:09 PM (20 years, 5 months ago)

I heard this guy once, granted he was a fictional character on television, but he said that light appears to be conscious.

does anyone know what he might have been talking about?

Well, sometimes while tripping, yes.
Anyway, you could consider the light coming from the television as conscious, when it forms on screen, such a fictional character.

He was probably referring to one of the most astounding findings of quantum physics in that subatomic light particles constantly appear to be making decisions! Furthermore, the decisions they make are based on decisions made elsewhere. Subatomic particles seem to know instantaneously what decisions are made somewhere else, and this can be as far away as another galaxy!

Do a search on "light particles double slit experiment" and you should find quite a bit on it.

Also, during NDE's many people refer to meeting a conscious god-like being seen as a ball of light.

Eh Senor! Your question reminded me of an article I read a while back. It gives a pretty neat perspective on light. Its quite long but worth the read!

www.clearwhitelight.org -- good site. A lot of mystics report seeing a bright white light during high stages of samadhi. And Timothy Leary's First Bardo (the first stage reached while on psychedelics) is a state of bliss, awareness, and happiness characterized by (surprise) a white light (a very high type of consciousness). Hope this helps.
