Big brown mushrooms growing in woodchips, MA

Habitat:
Growing in wood chips, under a birch tree and various hardwoods. Wasn't able to get a picture of the habitat because I didn't have my camera on me.

Gills:
Seemed to be grey-slightly blue on older specimens, white in younger ones.

Stem:
Beefy, solid stem. They had remnants of a partial veil on their stems, but they fell off when I put them in my bag.

Cap:
Caps in younger specimens are dark brown, and convex in shape. As they grow older, they become flatter and lighter, the oldest one I found was slightly concave and light brown. They seem to have scales on them, and some remnants of the universal veil(though it was raining when I found them, so I think many scraps of the universal veil were washed off.

Spore print color:
I'm taking a print of the medium sized one on a black surface.

Bruising:
None.

Other information:
The mycelium was very root-like, and the bulbs for these mushrooms were pretty large.
