abnormally cold nights and not ready to harvest
    #1973044 - 10/02/03 02:11 PM (20 years, 5 months ago)

ok so my friend's one surviving female is a little less than a month late budding, and it's been getting very cold at night lately...my friend is worried that if there is a freeze one of these nights, she will be ruined before harvest time...so sad.... :frown:

My plants too are rather late budding from growing this summer due to the shitty summer we've had. And tonight there's supposedly a frost advisory, so i've brought my bonsai'd buddies inside for the night.

Tonight might not be bad, but consider having to dig her up, if she'soutside in the ground, sometime this week.

Can't you just throw a sheet over it? I always see people doing this with other plants in their yard when the weather gets cold, but don't know if it would apply to your particular plants species.

It's customary to winter plants that are in the ground in with some bur lap, but my plants are pots so they'll equilize with air temperatures pretty quickly. I don't think bur lapp will help potted plants.

makes sense....
My mom always moves her potted plants indoors instead of throwing a sheet over 'em, and I never thought about why.
