cobweb question
    #1968450 - 10/01/03 01:09 AM (20 years, 5 months ago)

one of my cakes got cobweb.
i found a patch about an inch around.
i threw the cake out straight away.
how likley is it that the cobweb will now hit the other cakes?
they look alot healthier than the one that contamed, lots of fluffly snow white myc, which the contamed cake never showed.

don't worry alot about it i would change the perlite layer and clean a litle cobweb dies by dunking of the cakes (my cobweb does onse about 8 cakes had all over them i washed em with water and dunk them in water overnight the cobweb never came back again) you could put the cakes under water for some hours

I would just spray with some h2o2:h2o solution for a week. Dunking sure is safer but i don't believe you need it in this situation.
Also, make sure you clean the terrarium, contamination spores can attach to the terrarium walls and spread from that point.

I got attacked by cobweb once a long while ago. I kept cleaning and cleaning and it would keep coming back. I finally found it hiding in the tubing that I use between the humidifier and the terrarium. I had to clean the humidifier, tubing, everything with bleach to finally get rid of it.
