Bush Planned Iraq 'Regime Change' Before Becoming President

Lets Not Forget: Bush Planned Iraq 'Regime Change' Before Becoming President

By Neil Mackay
A SECRET blueprint for US global domination reveals that President Bush and his cabinet were planning a premeditated attack on Iraq to secure 'regime change' even before he took power in January 2001.
The blueprint, uncovered by the Sunday Herald, for the creation of a 'global Pax Americana' was drawn up for Dick Cheney (now vice- president), Donald Rumsfeld (defence secretary), Paul Wolfowitz (Rumsfeld's deputy), George W Bush's younger brother Jeb and Lewis Libby (Cheney's chief of staff). The Document , entitled Rebuilding America's Defences: Strategies, Forces And Resources For A New Century, was written in September 2000 by the neo-conservative think-tank Project for the New American Century (PNAC).

The plan shows Bush's cabinet intended to take military control of the Gulf region whether or not Saddam Hussein was in power. It says: 'The United States has for decades sought to play a more permanent role in Gulf regional security. While the unresolved conflict with Iraq provides the immediate justification, the need for a substantial American force presence in the Gulf transcends the issue of the regime of Saddam Hussein.'

The PNAC document supports a 'blueprint for maintaining global US pre-eminence, precluding the rise of a great power rival, and shaping the international security order in line with American principles and interests'.

This 'American grand strategy' must be advanced for 'as far into the future as possible', the report says. It also calls for the US to 'fight and decisively win multiple, simultaneous major theatre wars' as a 'core mission'.

The report describes American armed forces abroad as 'the cavalry on the new American frontier'. The PNAC blueprint supports an earlier document written by Wolfowitz and Libby that said the US must 'discourage advanced industrial nations from challenging our leadership or even aspiring to a larger regional or global role'.

The PNAC report also:

l refers to key allies such as the UK as 'the most effective and efficient means of exercising American global leadership';

l describes peace-keeping missions as 'demanding American political leadership rather than that of the United Nations';

l reveals worries in the administration that Europe could rival the USA;

l says 'even should Saddam pass from the scene' bases in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait will remain permanently -- despite domestic opposition in the Gulf regimes to the stationing of US troops -- as 'Iran may well prove as large a threat to US interests as Iraq has';

l spotlights China for 'regime change' saying 'it is time to increase the presence of American forces in southeast Asia'. This, it says, may lead to 'American and allied power providing the spur to the process of democratisation in China';

l calls for the creation of 'US Space Forces', to dominate space, and the total control of cyberspace to prevent 'enemies' using the internet against the US;

l hints that, despite threatening war against Iraq for developing weapons of mass destruction, the US may consider developing biological weapons -- which the nation has banned -- in decades to come. It says: 'New methods of attack -- electronic, 'non-lethal', biological -- will be more widely available ... combat likely will take place in new dimensions, in space, cyberspace, and perhaps the world of microbes ... advanced forms of biological warfare that can 'target' specific genotypes may transform biological warfare from the realm of terror to a politically useful tool';

l and pinpoints North Korea, Libya, Syria and Iran as dangerous regimes and says their existence justifies the creation of a 'world-wide command-and-control system'.

Tam Dalyell, the Labour MP, father of the House of Commons and one of the leading rebel voices against war with Iraq, said: 'This is garbage from right-wing think-tanks stuffed with chicken-hawks -- men who have never seen the horror of war but are in love with the idea of war. Men like Cheney, who were draft-dodgers in the Vietnam war.

'This is a blueprint for US world domination -- a new world order of their making. These are the thought processes of fantasist Americans who want to control the world. I am appalled that a British Labour Prime Minister should have got into bed with a crew which has this moral standing.'

comment?

c'mon.

it's no big deal that these guys happened to already
have had a war planned before coming into office
that would greatly increase their retirement packages
with the various defenese, energy and construction
contractors they are affiliated with.

right?

Probably dozens. If our military is doing it's job well, they should have plans for almost any contingency. However, if our 'leaders' were worth a shit, these plans would not be implemented except when the U.S. has been attacked or they have reason to believe there is an imminent danger of attack. In other words, not for imperial conquest or to advance the interests of the military industrial complex.

The thing that I find very odd is how few "news" organizations have drawn the colorful dotted line connecting our 'extended' occupation of Iraq, the contracts awarded to Brown & Root (the division of Halliburton contracted to build the permanent military bases in the Balkans after the Bosnian/Serb conflict) to build "temporary" bases in Iraq, and the closing of all US bases in Saudi Arabia.

The PNAC has made no secret of it's intention - to have a permanent, stable US military presence in the middle east. Well, lessee... no more bases in SA, continued presence in Iraq, building of military bases in Iraq... Is it just me, or does 1+1+1 actually equal 3 this time?

I try and tell anyone who will listen to go read that PNAC document...

Chilling stuff.

Well, I'm no Bush apologist, but I might make a comment or three anyway if that's okay with y'all.

1) Despite the headline, nowhere in there do I see any evidence that George W. Bush had any part in formulating that document, or even that he is a member of PNAC.

2) It was hardly a "secret document" -- the PNAC website has been up for a long time. It certainly wasn't "uncovered" by the Sunday Herald or anyone else for that matter.

3) If PNAC's plan was that " 'even should Saddam pass from the scene' bases in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait will remain permanently," why is the US bugging out of Saudi as we read this thread? Has Saddam not passed from the scene?

4) This is approximately the thirtieth time a link has been provided to this site in this forum alone. You really should hang out here more often, fellow moderator.

It is chilling indeed.

I've been reading Jim Hightower's book, Theives in High Places, and further understanding of it just makes it more ominous.

Did you know that both PNAC and the Bush "Doctrine" are both offshoots from Daddy Bush I's presidency? After the cold war concluded and the american people breathed a sign of relief at the fact that our government now had billions of dollars to put back into the public good.. hell, maybe even give every man, woman and child healthcare...the government and is band of merry corporate sponsers and contractors, said, "Now wait a minute, what will we make money off now?" and thus Paul Wolfowitz wrote "Defense Planning Guidance", a classified policy paper that laid the foundation for PNAC and the Bush "Doctrine". It wrote the beginning chapter on preemptive strike and world domination.. and by god, the Halliburtons and Harken energy leaders, ( who are coincidently, the new CEO and VP of the nation)they thought it was a smashing idea, so they and their cronie buddies sucked it up and took that paycut from millions a year to a measily 200-400+K to become public servants. What sacrificers. I say, if 200K a year is a sacrifice to you, you are way outta touch with the people you are supposed to be looking out for... But anyway...Then the republicans had so much time on their hands during the 8 years their slimy asses got kicked out of the inner sanctum that they refined, refined, refined and even obsessed... and they jumped on the first possibility to implement their plan. Now, did you know that with the various cash that is hidden in other govermental programs, 56 cents out of every one of your tax dollars goes to fund this wild and wacky escapade for world domination.

Makes you proud to be an American, eh?

Read Jim Hightower's book, it's an honest, regular Joe look at the ridiculousness that has become our nation.

Also, since this is take over plan is so focused on the persian gulf..

Did you know that on an average, our vehicles get 20 mpg. They burn nearly 2/3rd of the oil consumed in the US. If we used our technology and brought that average up to 33 mpg.. we wouldnt need a damn drop of oil from the entire persian gulf region. An increase of 13 miles per gallon.

But no! Our cars keep getting bigger with worse and worse gas milage.. things that make you go Hrmmm... In the 1970s we were getting 40 % of our crude through OPEC.. the US had some shortage and supply problems and it vowed that we would DIVERSIFY and end our dependancy on foreign crude. Today, we import 60% of our oil from OPEC.

Why havent we started a Manhattan Project with our best and brightest to create and tweak alternate energy sources? I bet it would take less then a decade. Why not offer rewards and incentives to home inventors, making them patriots of the greatest esteem if they can advance this cause? What greater thing could our country do to promote peace and advance nation building then create alternate energy sources that let us stop polluting our children's drinking water and air? That would let people in third world countries harness the power of the wind or water? That would let us take all that wasted money fighting oil wars and put it back into this economy to create real and sustainable jobs and amazing new techologies.. every child to go to college for free. Every adult could go see a doctor. Every homeless man and woman could be fed and warmed.

12 year olds have it more together these days then alot of the adults:

What the American Flag Stands For
by Charlotte Alberon
The American flag stands for the fact that cloth can be very important. It is against the law to let the flag touch the ground or to leave the flag flying when the weather is bad. The flag has to be treated with respect. You can tell just how important this cloth is because when you compare it to people, it gets much better treatment. Nobody cares if a homeless person touches the ground. A homeless person can lie all over the ground all night long without anyone picking him up, folding him neatly and sheltering him from the rain.
School children have to pledge loyalty to this piece of cloth every morning. No one has to pledge loyalty to justice and equality and human decency. No one has to promise that people will get a fair wage, or enough food to eat, or affordable medicine, or clean water, or air free of harmful chemicals. But we all have to promise to love a rectangle of red, white, and blue cloth.

Betsy Ross would be quite surprised to see how successful her creation has become. But Thomas Jefferson would be disappointed to see how little of the flag's real meaning remains.

What the American Flag Stands For
Charlotte Aldebron, 12, wrote this essay for a competition in her 6th grade English class. She attends Cunningham Middle School in Presque Isle, Maine.

Oh, and pink--- Rono can post that shit as many times as he likes.. because obviously people like you still dont get it.. So it needs to be posted, over and over and over again, until you finally get so sick of it that you give up and read the damn thing and it's history.
