It says "penetration: 012" If that means it is a E12 99.5% filter, it won't be enough as you need at least a H14 filter to meet the 99.975 % spec.

Alright, thanks. What about one of these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/AAF-Astrocel-I-HEPA-filter-24-x-24-x-11-5-PN-905-000-253-/331105106736 http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-ASTROCEL-24-BY-24-BY-6-1-2-PREFILTER-85-/301088294332?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item461a42c5bc
I don't see any specs posted and couldn't find anything when trying to look up the model #. Should I message the seller and ask the efficiency %, penetration, resistance, and test flow (+anything i'm missing?)? Is one Astrocel 1 just as good as another Astrocel 1 filter?
If these ones don't meet the standards I think I'm just going to go with this one since I see that other people have used it in the past: http://www.ebay.com/itm/AstroCel-I-HEPA-Filter-24-x24-x12-1000CFM-NEW-in-Box-/161164106506?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2586211b0a

This is incorrect. This filter will work fine for mushroom cultivation. The efficiency will increase with use. Yes it isn't 99.99 but it is the same material as the 99.99. good price for a new hepa filter that size.

Yeah, it looks like a great deal if it's suitable. Is it worth buying that one or do you think I should go with one of the other ones? Would any of the other ones be noticeably better?

All hepa filters are made the same way with the same material. The price jumps when they come off the the assembly line when they test it. If it reads 99.995% it will be more expensive than the 99.975% but they are the same. As you use the filter it will actually change in efficiency for the better as all the particulates start to add up behind it. After years of use it will drop as the material behind the filter starts to cake up and degrade the filter from back to front from the weight of the load behind the pleats. Ive scavenged hepa filters that are years old and put them into use with no problem for many more. If you were doing this commercially I would recommend a higher rating and a newer filter but since you are a hobbyist I would not. It will do what you are expecting of it.

So I narrowed it down to what I think are my two best options. Which one do you guys think I should go with?
Filtera $137 24 x 24 x 6 99.99% resistance 1"
Orrr
Astrocel 1 $120 24 x 24 x 12 penetration: .017 resistance: .9 test flow: 1000cfm http://www.ebay.com/itm/AstroCel-I-HEPA-Filter-24-x24-x12-1000CFM-NEW-in-Box-/161164106506?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2586211b0a
I like the idea of the 6" one because I think it would be lighter and I don't think the plenum would have to be as big as a 12". Plus I saw that RR recommends a filter depth of 5-7 vs 12".

I use that Astrocel- works fine but doesn't have much resistance.

Hi all, even dough this is my first post, I've been reading around quite a lot this days. I was just going to open a new treat but I saw this one, and I think my question can fit here.
I plan to clone some pleurotus ostreatus that I'm growing. So I've made a glove-box,and opened 2 sterile petri dish's for awhile with Agar for control. Just to check To see if my environment was sterile enough for the cloning.
Even dough I don't have any contam's sign yet, I think the glove box is not very practical to work, So I've started to research about Flow Hood, shmuv box's and Filters and air purifier methods. and I found those UV light purification system:
Envirotol
Do you think that this device, with a extra HEPA filter would give me enough air purification? Hepa Filter
Thanks and best Regards

Build a laminar flow hood. The rest is inferior. RR

Can't seem to find the efficiency %.
You will be better off with a six inch filter than a 12 inch one. This one is perfect, but I just bought it. More difficult to generate laminar flow with a 12 inch filter but it will still work. Also, the plenum has to be bigger for a thicker filter so the box becomes unwieldy.

I think I found my HEPA filter:
What do you think about this Specs and price?
H14 (>99.995% efficiency): for laminar air flows and for overpressure units in mother culture departments 508(20inches) * 508 * 110 mm: 1 piece for 130 €
Brand name: Camfil wooden frame neoprene seal microglass paper media aluminum separators filtering surface: 9,5 m² 1080 m³/h pressure fall: 600 Pa

Thanks, I've talked with them, but the shipping cost's are way to high (almost the same as the filter itself) So I keep searching and I found this other site where the laminar flow filters are more expensive, but they have other HEPA H14 deep filters. Like This one
Would it work?

I used this site, because I'm also in the EU. If you have place enough, they have a monster size filter for a price I would almost order it for while not needing it.
