i just bought a brand fucking new aluminum Presto pressure cooker. i was sterilizing some jars, and noticed that it had been a while since i put them on, and the rocker hadn't started moving at all or making any noise, then i started smelling something burning, lifted up the pressure cooker and saw melted metal on the stove element. FUCK.....i hope walmart will take it back...

A new Presto cooker should have a warranty in the box. I would say that the damn thing melting under normal use would definately fall under the warranty. Check that out before you go trying to be all tricky and shit.

I just bought a presto pressure cooker today and it has a 12 year limited warranty so U should be cool. I mean it's not like U threw it at the wall, U were cooking on the stove w/ it if they try to tell U they won't replace it just speak to the manager....I work in retail and believe me they will do it for U if U demand it!

Hmm, my mink bought a presto PC a few weeks ago and he said he noticed he smelled something like burning rubber on the 1st run. The PC definitely worked, I wonder how much longer it will last.

On second thought....Try and return it where U bought it but looking over the warranty it says it's void if "abuse or misuse(including overheating and boiling the unit dry)" is practiced. If they won't give U an exchange than U can try to send it to Presto but I'm gonna have to say they won't hook it up w/ a new one since U probabaly were negligent...hate to rain on your parade.
