(This really isn't an advanced question, BTW... should have posted in cultivation...)

>200 gr rye berries
>110 ml water

Are you sure this works?? This sounds like very little water.

Just for the record, 1 cup is 236 ml , not 200ml .....

What is it in cups?
My friend used to do one cup of rye to one cup of water, and then PC it without soaking or simmering. He now simmers the berries first. Is there a method without the simmering? What is the ideal ratio in cups?

> Is there a method without the simmering?

Every bag of rye berries that I have ever gotten has had a different moisture content. To avoid the hassle of having to recalibrate my water to weight ratios each time I buy a new bag of berries, I soak and simmer first, then PC adding only a 'splash' (a few CCs) of water.

You are right. I tried to pull the recipe from GGMM by Stamets from memory. The correct recipe is:

200gr Rye Berries
220ml water
1 gram gypsum

The easiest recipe I have is get a five gallon bucket and fill it 1/2-3/4's the way full depending how much you want. Next add hot water straight from your tap, it doesnt matter how hot long as its hot to the touch. Allow to sit for 24-28 hrs then strain and rinse. I generally after rinsing lay it out into huge piles on a table to evaporate that little surface moisture(5-15min depending how hot the rinsing water is) and then bag the shit up and pcook. This works with wheat also.
