millet

is there a tek specificly for millet or are all the teks pretty much the same for grains?  I work in the produce/nutrition section of a large grocery store so i have access to bags of whole millet, any info would be helpful :smile: thanks

Well, I've never used millet, but TMC says it's got like 5 times the kernels, so that's good. It's %13 moisture, as opposed to Rye's 15. The %90 saturation rule still applies though. Basically, it's the same prep.

Recipe #1: Basic birdseed recipe

QUART jar:
250 ml birdseed
130 ml water
1 gram gypsum (optional)
PINT jar:
140 ml birdseed
80 ml water
1 knife tip full of gypsum (optional)
Recipe #2: Rye berry recipe

QUART jar:
250 ml rye berries
210 ml water
1 gram gypsum (optional)
PINT jar:
125 ml rye
105 ml water
1 knife tip full of gypsum (optional)

Recipe #3 Basic millet recipe

250 ml millet

Unhulled millet would be preferable.. if it's being sold to be eaten by people then it's most likely been hulled and will end up as a sticky clump in the jar.. some people use it like that but it's not ideal..

I use this method for preparing jars.. probably have to alter the amount of water a bit to suit whatever millet you end up using. http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat...true#Post644625
