i cloned some oyster's a while ago wich grew vigorously, but after a while all got yellow and then orange places, but if it's metabolites, i've never seen it like that.
what do you think?

How confident are you that it is indeed oyster mycellium? I have never seen oyster put off orange personally.

Oysters will often secrete colored metabolites. This is one of mine. The second picture is a close up of the spot shown in the first. This BRF jar fruited fine. RR

@ nanncee yeah i'm pretty confident it's oyster mycelium, the structure and rate of growth.
@RR i knew metabolites only as liquid drops, orange and yellow. but when i look at those pictures, you also have surrounding the drops light coloring, wich could be the same. nice.
i put some to rice and rye and will see how it turns out. but i'm pretty reassured. probably there will also come drops where now the mycelium is colored.

i think i might have a problem with the ''oyster'' culture after all, RR, when you see these pics, do you still think it are metabolites? the mycelium does smell sweet like oyster.... and grows like it...

I wonder if it would be related to the medium. Some rye jars inoculated with the same culture don't show the orange. But this rice jar and the wheat flower-chick pea flower agar did.
Those pics are reassuring amanita, nice

Well.... I don't think it is contamination but I also don't know what it is. So don't be TOO reassured. Will examine microscopically soon and let you know.
