Did the US "Government" lead the public to believe that Iraq posed an imminent threat to security?
The arguement in the other thread has grown a little tedious so I think we should try and move it on a little. Who cares who said what exactly.

No im suggesting arguing over whether or not one word is uttered or not is fairly tedious. I think its plain to see that the US "government" wanted the public to see Iraq as an imminent threat. If they hadnt someone from the administration would have spoken out against the misleading media reports at the time of the State of the Union Address.

Then perhaps rather than claim someone said something which was never said, they should have said "it was implied".
There's a big difference between the two.
Why you are here in a message board where debates take place if you don't see the difference is puzzling to me.
All we have to carry on discussions here with, is the written word.... there are no facial expressions or body language to go by. Most of us don't know each other and as such don't just "know what someone meant". You can't say.... "Wait, did you really mean to say such and such"? Accuracy is the only way to carry on an intelligent discussion.
Add that to the unfortunately all too often "disingenuous" statement, the failure to provide proof, and the inability of some to admit error, and you wind up with these type of arguements.
Want these type of arguements to stop? Encourage others to be accurate, to be willing to back down when wrong, and to admit defeat as I've noted in your rate that you can do, and soon enough they'll... for the most part, go away.

Dont you get it Im not interested in the debate you and Alex were having. If you read that thread you will see I agreed with neither of you at any point. I just thought there was a more important issue which was being missed.

Don't you get that I'm not interested in your thoughts on the matter?
I'm merely pointing out ways to avoid it in the future.

You should have thought about that before starting this thread.
You could always just choose to ignore me.

So do you believe that the US "Government" did not try and portray Iraq as an imminent threat. No whether they said it explicitly but whether they tried to portray Iraq in such a manner.
