Yes, it's probably Tyvek or something similar. This must be one of the biggest secrets of mushroom industry that was brought to this community by Anno. I once talked to a mushroom spawn producer and he didn't want to tell me what is he using and when I told him about Tyvek, he said: "Fuck, how did you find out?".
Here they sell Tyvek as a breathable isolation for roofs. It comes in two different thickness (Tyvek soft & Tyvek hard) and it costs 1.5$-2$ per m2.

if they're micron magic they're tyvek for sure. you can buy it wholesale by the 10' roll if you find a source.

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it.
If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

My parents are building a new house. Mid-construction I went to take a look at it, only to find the huge words "TYVEK" printed across the side. Apparently they use it as house insulation or something similar now. I assume you can get it in extreme bulk from some sort of building supply.

Micron magic told me explicitly that his filter disks were not tyvec.

i bought my polyfill in a store for aquarium & terrarium....

i bought the "loose" thing, but you could also by like flat squaremeters

i bet this stuff would be at least as good as this filterdisks,
if its not the same....

It's not the same.

But, I'm with dean. Who cares?

MM's filters work fine, and are reasonably cheap. FP and other "pros" sell the thick filter disks, which work fine but are more expensive. Polyfil is cheap as hell and works fine, but is a little more work. Tyvek works just as well as anything, but it's free.

Back on point, I've been around for a long time and have never seen anybody be able to figure out what the "profesional" filter disks are made of. It's rather obviously a tick, perhaps compressed synthetic fiber. Which fiber, and where to get it? That's the question.

Untill it's answered and a free source is found, I'd stick to the tyvek.

PM me with any cultivation questions.

I just looked at my profile and realized I had a website at one point in time on geocities, it's not there anymore and I have no idea what I had on it. Anybody remember my website from several years aga? PM if so please.

moreover, in my experience the expensive FP filters do not perform as well as a homemade plyfill lid "a la anno"
