I've heard this before. Some say he went to India, and learned some of the Hindu beliefs, and incorporated them into Judaism, giving us what we now call Christianity.

Yeah, back when I was the first incarnation of Christ, me and her made a lof of Sons of God.. Now, though, no one even calls me Jesus anymore. No respect for the Messiah these days... ?pouts?. I want my father!!! Peace.

No one knows (except Levi, who wrote 'The Aquarian Gospel of Jesus the Christ,' which is clearly fictional) because His life wasn't significant to writers until decades after his death. By then, family and personal friends were all dead (given Roman intolerance and the brevity of the human lifespan in 1st century Judea). Jesus probably never travelled further than 200 miles from His birthplace, since he was connected to His family and most likely was needed to work with His father Yosef in the carpentry shop. Moreover, there were Roman restrictions in occupied Judea which made casual travel even more difficult than it already was.
Even though there are several extra-canonical 'infancy narratives,' with charming magical stories about little Y'shua, and one Biblical account of Y'shua at age 12, being left behind accidentally by His family in Jerusalem, where they returned to find Him impressing the elder Rabbis with his precocious Wisdom (probably a literary creation and insertion), nothing is known of those years. It is commonly accepted among scholars that Y'shua had siblings, most notably James [the Just] whose role was minimized by the early Church because it contradicted the man-made doctrine of 'Mother Mary - Ever Virgin.' So Peter was given the role of head of the Church in Rome, not James, the 'brother of the Lord.' One can, by this bit of Scriptural data, surmise that Y'shua had family life in Nazareth as a young person - not fanciful pilgrimages to India and Tibet which is utterly ridiculous.

Do any of you find it somewhat amusing that the the majority of western civilization bases it's religious beliefs off of stories of some guy who's full life isn't even known? I mean the bible is supposed to be "the truth" and all that shizzle, yet it doesn't even talk about Jesus' relation to Judas as a teenager in the "N.W.O." (new world order) street gang or anything... if the 3 wise men KNEW that he was that important from the time he was born, why the fuck didn't they follow him his whole life and have people jotting down what kinda shit he was getting into?
I just came upon this realisation.. it backs my belief that the bible is a sham. *shakes his head in sorrow* I'm surrounded by friggin' sheep... it's pathetic.

Your knowledge about the Bible, how the stories were constructed, the meaning of 'midrash,' all need to be acquired before you are ready to understand any kind of serious answer about these writings. At present, you are thinking way too concretely, and do not realize (for example) that the birth narratives are literary insertions, not historically accurate journalistic reportings from the 'Bethlehem Gazette,' from some 1st century news hound trying to write a scroll about an astronomical anomaly. Only fundamentalist nitwits read the Bible with the literal comprehension of a child, and believe that they are being 'childlike' in the simplicity of their faith instead of being the childish simpletons that they actually are. Read 'Liberating the Gospels' by John Shelby Spong if you Really want an answer.

The Gosples in the Bible are a watered down and filtered version of Jesus's life, just like any book about about a persons life. You think 5 small books wit a couple chapters each can cover a mans 30 yr. life? i am 19 for god sakes and my experiences couldnt even fit in 50 books the size of Mathews or Lucas. I bet you if i die when im 30 and someone wanted to make a positive book about my life they would NOT mention all my adolecent drug use and womenizing. lol, 5 republicans can write about Bush after he dies and make him seem like the Christ if they wanted, lol, its that easy. ANd then a small cult wold form somewhere in Texas exploding into its own goverment and 2000 years later this anti-freedom goverment takes over the world and Mexicans strart seeing Bush's mom on the sky and on wood formations on their doors..........yup that easy.

It is well known that the King James version of the bible that most people are raised upon is highly erroneous in most of it's translations. King James transversed many passages, not the least of which was to re-word it so that he would be able to divorce his wife without reprucussion from the church.

Point taken and you're correct. ANNULMENT was the correct word to use. To make as though the marriage never took place......

You guys ever watch the special on the Discovery chanel about Jesus? Called something like "Jesus's Life Revealed." Well anyhow, they basically said that from his birth to the age of 30 very little is known. Anything that is said to be known is mear speculation. It's likely that he just blended in with the rest of the population trying to scrape a decent living together like everyone else was trying to do. He perhaps tried many different careeres... fishing, farming... eventually finding carpentry as a well suited job for himself.

I would be more than interested to read an account of Jesus' life written outside the bible. What an interesting story that would be. However, I venture to say that perhaps he was not unlike the others in his community - living, working, breathing just like anyone else.
