The substrate is drying out, either because of the mycelium using up water or because of low rH, or both. Usually this is nothing to worry about.

The substrate tends to shrink and pull away from the sides as water and nutrients are consumed; quite normal. Fill those gaps with fresh casing material. It's probably best to wait until after the current flush is harvested and do it while you are patching.
