funked up casings, need help

ok, my monitor has went from the pf tek, to in-vitro which he liked but felt it was a step back so he is trying out casing, he has had one succeful attempt awhile back with a casing kit from magic mushrooms. but he is the expiremental type, so he ventured off on his own and tried to case 12 fully colonized pf jars of gt and a spawn bag of it, 6 jars to a plastic container, two with jars and one seperate with the spawn bag in it. now everything was going fine till he checked it this morning, two days after casing, no contams or nothing of that sort and they look healthy and on one he already see's a knot coming up so he switched them to fruiting chamber, but when he checked he noticed he forgot one huge step, he didnt line the bottom of the containers with any substrate so its just mycelium and then verm casig on top, will this mess it up any, could i poke holes in the bottom to drain exess water to keep it from drowning the mycelium. any help is needed, my savannah monitor thanks you guys. later.

If I understand well, you don't have a bottom layer with your strait verm casing. It's not a big deal. The bottom layer can be skipped.

thanks man, next time maybe my monitor will atleast remember to throw in some moist perlite for run off. well ill have him start a grow log in the next day or two and well ee if it all goes well. later
